What a gorgeous, gorgeous day it was here. Somewhere in the 80s with a light breeze. We spent most of the day outside dinking around the backyard with the girls. Bo pushed her "babies" around in a stroller and Magpie rolled around on a blanket wearing a white onesie (my favorite baby attire) and a huge grin. At some point we squeezed in a walk, a run and a trip to the fabric store (of course).
The photo below is of the new sitting area we created in the yard. We call it "the beach" because, well, it looks like a beach, but that's actually pea gravel, not sand. I'll post updated photos of the garden soon. There's actually some green coming out of the ground already.
While we were outside, J and I planned our meals for next weekend. We're renting a cabin at the lake with his sister, her hubbie and their three girls (all under age 5).
So, we're in charge of dinners Friday and Sunday nights and lunch on Saturday. We're thinking shish kabobs on Friday (chicken ones and lamb ones with yogurt-cucumber sauce) and fish tacos on Sunday. We're going to do a little cake baking in the Dutch oven again. (Did I blog about that? A couple of weekends ago we baked a pineapple-upside-down cake on our grill. It was hilarious ... and very moist!)
But what should we make for lunch? Any ideas? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
