The simplest days with the girls are my favorites. I was feeling much better, so we managed to go out for breakfast at Chaps, do some arts and crafts and fold a few piles of laundry.
Bo is pictured in the first photo below with two "quilts" she made today by gluing bits of fabric onto a larger fabric square. The idea came from Kids Craft Weekly, which is my go-to site when my creative juices stop flowing.
We also hung the art display board that's holding the quilts. I'd made one for Magpie's room (back when it was the playroom) months ago, and figured Bo needed one above her art table. It's so simple--just a piece of scrap wood screwed into the wall with wooden clothespins glued to it.
I was also thrilled to see a post on Penny Carnival from Klay, a Spokane crafter who read my HomeMaker column in the paper today about homemade gifts for children. Glad to know someone besides my editor is reading my stories! She shared a link to photos of the amazing fabric books she makes for kids. They're so, so lovely. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
I'm so glad you're feeling better!! The projects you did with your daugthers look wonderful and fun!
