Bo's birthday is finally getting closer. Thank God. The poor kid is going to explode with anticipation if it doesn't come soon.
She's still gung-ho for the rainbow theme, so I'm experimenting with making party hats right now as she naps. This project was easy enough that I'm going to have her help when she wakes up.
I had the rainbow fabric on hand. I deconstructed a store-bought party hat (we always seem to have a few sitting around), glued it to the fabric with spray adhesive, trimmed around it, then folded up the edges and glued them down with normal white glue. I slipped the tab back into its slot and there it is--sitting atop Lulu the lamb, the only model willing to sit still for a photo for me.
Update: in the interest of mass production, I ended up not slipping the tabs into the slots for the rest of the hats I made with Bo. Instead, I just overlapped the ends and stapled them shut. I'm adding a photo of Magpie in the hat, too.
We're not doing a big party this year because we'll be flying east for vacation a few days later and because, well, she's 3. As long as she sees a cake and a few party hats, she'll be over the moon. Or over the rainbow, I guess, in this case.
