Happy Inauguration Day, everyone! I'm too emotional to make any sense with my own words right now, so I just wanted to highlight an excerpt from the poem read today by Elizabeth Alexander that I found particularly moving. Some live by "Love thy neighbor as thy self." Others by "first do no harm," or "take no more than you need." What if the mightiest word is love? Love beyond marital, filial, national. Love that casts a widening pool of light. Love with no need to preempt grievance. In today's sharp sparkle, this winter air, anything can be made, any sentence begun. On the brink, on the brim, on the cusp -- praise song for walking forward in that light. And if you haven't already, download your set of ObamaBats here.
that is so awesome!

Isn't that stuff fun? I can definitely think of a million other things I should have been doing, but I couldn't tear myself away from that Obamicon site. There are some funny ones that other people have submitted.
Thanks for stopping by, guys.

I just read your post about Disney princesses. I agree completely with you and I don't think you're ridiculous at all. A friend of mine posted her own "princess analysis" http://turkeyboysgirls.blogspot.com/2008/08/unedited.html on her blog. I thought you might find it interesting. :)

Oh, and her comment about Susan B. Anthony panties made me laugh. http://turkeyboysgirls.blogspot.com/2008/08/disney-princesses-have-invaded-my-life.html
